It was a releatively sleepless flight across the Atlantic and we were sitting in the middle two seats of the big jet. The young woman sitting next to me was quiet and seemed to want her privacy, but we talked a bit in the morning before landing at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. She was on her way to Norway to meet up with a friend, then they were flying to China. She told us that she didn’t care much for the Asian countries as a traveler.

When I asked how it was that she traveled so much, “work or business?,” she responded that she was a professional pool player and she traveled around the world playing tournaments.

Turns out she’s the current Women’s World Champion and has been on ESPN a number of times!

Anyway, her Name is Monica Webb and it was fun talking with her. We wish her well in her competition in China!
