What a busy day! We flew into Laguardia Airport and landed around 2:00, then took the shuttle bus into Manhattan and checked into the Hilton near Times Square. By 3:00 we were out on the street. First stop was the nearest deli for a pastrami on rye. Mmmmmmm.
Nourished, we headed for Times Square where we found out that most of the Broadway shows were sold out, but we ran into an asian Jason Mraz who told us about an off-Broadway theater, so we hiked up to the Snapple Theater at 50th and Broadway to buy tickets for the “Perfect Crime.” then we went we stopped at an Irish pub for a pint before heading back to the hotel to shower and change.
We love to people-watch, so we decided to have dinner at a sidewalk cafe. Then, off to the show. The theater was tiny – in fact, it was so intimate, I thought they were going to hand us scripts and ask us to play minor parts! Here’s a picture from our seats:
After the show, we walked around Times Square where we bumped into TheNaked Cowgirl, having seen her partner, The Naked Comboy, earlier in the day:
There must have been thousands of people wandering around Times Square:
On the way back to the hotel, we spotted a stand-up comedy club, “HA!,” and went in for the show. Funny. Raunchy. Once is enough. We got back to the hotel a little after midnight and collapsed, exhausted.
