Niagara Falls

Trevor picked us up just before noon and drove us to the USA side of Niagara Falls. There’s a bit of a carnival atmosphere outside the actual viewing area, but the park at the top of the American Falls (as they’re called on the USA side of the river) is awesome. That’s the Canadian side of Niagara in the picture, below.

It all makes a beautiful backdrop for photos.

There’s an island in between the American Falls and the Canadian Falls that is part of the USA and there’s a pedestrian bridge to it, so we walked across to view back to where we first photographed the river and the American Falls.

Then we continued on to the other side of the island so that we could see the Canadian Falls.

You can’t get much of a view of the Canadian Falls from the USA side – all you can see is the river launching off into nothingness – but you can feel the power from the river on the Maid of the Mist boat ride.
