Today, we took the Jeep on a drive to l’Île d’ Orléans, the island in the middle of the St. lawrence River, just northeast of where we are camping.
On the way, we passed the Montmorency Falls and since the weather was nice, we decided to stop. The waterfall is supposed to be about 60 feet higher than Niagara Falls.

I don’t know if it was the wind or the angle of the sun or if it’s always like this, but we were constantly seeing the most incredible rainbows.

And I discovered my pot of gold at the bottom of one of them. Voilá!

We hiked up to the top on the most amazing staircase overlooking the falls.

The view was magnificent from the top of the stairs and we could see all the way back to Québec.

There was a suspension bridge over the falls.

So, we walked across it to the other side . . .

. . . and took a picture from there.

From that side of the falls wecould see l’Île d’ Orléans, our next destination.

Since we wanted to get moving, we decided to take the cable car back down.
